Consultation Fees (as at November 2019)
The fee currently recommended by the Australian Psychological Society is $254 per 50-minute consultation. My initial appointment fee is $225, with subsequent consultations costing $200. If you are on a low income (e.g., unemployed; health care card; students) please ask about the possibility of a reduced rate.
Non-attendance at a scheduled appointment without providing a minimum of 24-hours notice will attract a full session cancellation fee.
Full payment of the consultation fee is required at the completion of each appointment. Payment can be made in cash or via EFTPOS facility. No cheques are accepted.
If you have a letter of referral and a Mental Health Care Plan from your GP, then providing this is presented at the initial session, you can claim a Medicare rebate for the session. This rebate amount is currently $126.50 per consultation (as at November 2019). Consultation fees can also be claimed through some private health care funds ‘extras’ cover. Your provider can advise you of whether you are eligible for any rebate for clinical psychology services and the rebate amount.
All private psychological assessments are charged in accordance with the recommended fee of the Australian Psychological Society.
Work that is undertaken for Workers’ Compensation purposes is charged in accordance with the clinical psychology rate specified by WorkCover WA. Fees in relation to Motor Vehicle Accident claims are charged in accordance with the recommended rates of the Australian Psychological Society.
